Giving
Hope: Background Info
Giving Hope comprises British Airways Employees
who have volunteered their time and effort to
provide help to SE Asia Earthquake disaster
victims who have lost their homes and families.
We offer them financial assistance, food and
clothing and work towards their rehabilitation.
Giving Hope has so far provided blankets, shoes,
jackets, overcoats, tents and logistics help to
transport goods to Pakistan and UK warehousing.
We have worked with other agencies including
SOS Children's Villages, UNICEF, Islamic Relief, Muslim
Hands and West Midlands Fire Service to provide
aid and assistance to South Asia Earthquake
victims.
Some of the successes achieved by the Giving
Hope team (or involving members of Giving Hope)
include:

Raising over £5,000 at Chinese dinners in
aid of Tsunami victims -
money used to support affected families and
orphan children's education needs

£2,000 raised through dinner
event for SE Asia earthquake victims

Charity auction dinner
raised over £50,000 - donated to
Islamic Relief

BA cargo plane full of supplies taken to
quake-affected areas

Over £2,000 given directly to widows and
their families in quake regions

Cabin crew trips taking aid and
supplies directly to victims in camps

Dinner auction which raised £35,000
