2006 - Giving Hope Auction Dinner Event
A
Fundraising dinner and auction organised by
Giving Hope raised £35,000 (including a donation
of £10,000 from British Airways) for humanitarian
relief efforts in the aftermath of the South
Asian earthquake.
The
event was held on 24th April in The Renaissance
Hotel, Heathrow.
The money raised has been donated to SOS
Children's Villages for construction of two homes for
children orphaned by the earthquake in Pakistan.
Guests included:
Abdul Basit - Deputy High Commissioner of
Pakistan
Robert Webb - General Counsel and a Director of
British Airways
Marry Barry - Manager, BA Community Relations
Souriya Anwar - President, SOS Children's
Village Pakistan
Lord Nazir Ahmed - Peer of the Realm
Adam Khan - A1 Racing Driver
The event, hosted by Murtz (host
of Mutz Cutz on ZeeMuzic TV), was a sellout success.
Ruby Raza and BossMan (both of Sunrise Radio
Fame) conducted the auction.
